Things I Won’t Miss About Summer…

Its officially the first day of fall!! I know, I know you’re excited too! I thought I’d kick off the official start to fall with a hearty farewell to summer. These are the things I won’t miss about summer…

Things I won't miss about summer... - BusyBeingJennifer.com

#1. Hot-Sweaty-Sticky-Icky-Everywhere-ness. Seriously. It seems like from May until the middle of September, I’m sweaty, sticky and uncomfortable from morning t0 night. Not Fun.

#2. Wearing shorts and tank tops ALL THE TIME. Because thats all I can handle in the heat that Texas throws at you. Summer in Texas is not fashion friendly. At least not for this girl!

#3. Hardly leaving the house. This northern born girl Can. Not. Handle. the 100+ temperatures in July. I basically become a hermit for 6 weeks during the hottest part of the summer. I need air conditioning to survive!

#4. Feeling like a frumpy-hot-mess 24/7. Refer to numbers 1 through 3.

#5. That gosh awful, horrible, sinking feeling you get when you realized you forgot your sunglasses. Which is pretty much the feeling I get every time I pull out of the driveway. D-oh!

#6. Bugs. All of them. In every size, shape and color… there are a lot of them in Texas! Oh and spiders. Get’em gone!

#7. Top knot in my hair… all day. every day. Cause Ain’t nobody got time for humidity.

#8. Bug Bites. See #6.

Those are the things I won’t miss about summer… the things I will miss? Longer days, perfect sunsets, drives down the back roads chasing the perfect light for the perfect picture, early morning coffee on the back step…

Talking about the things I WON’T miss about summer! What will you NOT miss about summer?

I couldn’t agree more! I am done with the heat. I am ready for cool morning walks, sipping hot chocolate and leaving the back door open.

Yesterday I was sweating like a beast. I don’t think chicago is done with that part yet.

I’ll be happy once it cools down to the 80s and 90s! This 100º+ stuff I am not digging.

    1. I won’t miss the hot temps and feeling like a hermit in my house.

    2. Spending money on plants and flowers to have them die the next day, because you forgot to water them. Next year it’s going to be all native plants!

    3. Mosquitos, but I don’t want to spray the back yard, because I don’t want to “kill” the good bugs!

    4. Bunnies. They destroyed my butterfly garden. Now I have to put up an ugly chicken wire fence next year.

I will miss the longer days, lunchtime walks, flip-flops, t-shirts and tons of birds at my feeders!

Fall is the BEST season, even if it takes a few extra weeks to get to Texas. 🙂 I’m ready to get OUT and enjoy nature again.

Great list! I wont miss feeling sticky. But I CANNOT stand winter. I’d definitely take summertime over winter any day.

I’m an air baby too, and hate the heat. Although I had a good summer, I’m stoked that Fall is here.

Of, course, it is the heat here in the Rocky Mtns. of Colorado – Denver. Today was the first time I say out on my deck and read and drank my Cherry Coke. Love Fall and already have started to decorate my home with the Fall arrival.
