But colors do more than just brighten up your interior. They also have a great impact on your mood. And you’re going to need all the mood-boosting you can get to make this summer a memorable one, especially at home.

Clever Ways to Add Color to Your Home

  1. Create colorful flower bouquets

What’s summer without a perfect touch of floral beauty? From your windows to your shelves and countertops, few things can compare to the immediate charm of colorful bouquets sprucing your home in various ways. Find a local florist and look for lush, in-season, colorful natural flowers to lift your home’s ambiance.

Reputable florists such as Alpha Floral have a wealth of home floral designs and arrangements to choose from. But you can also opt for faux flowers if you find natural flowers too difficult to maintain.

  1. Add throw pillows or cushions

Throw pillows offer some of the easiest ways to add color to your home’s indoor environment. They’re also easy to change to move with different seasons and do not require too much effort to maintain. You can pick varying color combinations of throw pillows or cushions that offer contrasting colors to give a better effect.

Aside from the color effect, throw pillows or cushions add texture, pattern, and character to your home. You can also pick from different shapes and colors and mix and match them to suit your home’s general design theme.

  1. Use colorful curtains

If you’re preparing your home for the approaching summer, you’re probably considering changing your curtains to lighter options. Be sure to opt for curtains that have more color to them. And, of course, the colors should match your home’s interior design. Try brighter colors or if your interior walls are darker (and vice versa) to create a better effect.

  1. Don’t leave out your linens and furniture

Aside from your curtains, you can also work on your linens and furniture pieces. For example, you can switch up your regular table cloth for covers with more colorful fabric. You can also use different napkins in place of your usual table cloth to create a more summer-like, colorful appeal. Regarding your furniture pieces, your sofas can do with some colorful sofa covers.

The great thing about sofa covers is that you can purchase them in different colors and change flow with each season or match any change in your home’s interior design. You can also follow up your sofa covers with an accent chair and some summer-themed paintings if you love art.

  1. Add colorful floor rugs

Are your current floor rugs looking a bit out of season? Then why not replace them with some colorful alternatives to freshen your indoors? Again, you can have floor rugs of different colors in-store to rotate your options regularly. This way, your floors will always look lively and vibrant.

What is your favorite way to add color to your home for the summer?
