Selfish Winter Sewing

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

Winter is in full swing in these parts. Of course its not nearly as brutal here in Texas as the rest of the country, but there are definitely days where I want to do nothing but bundle up and stay home! Those are the days I love to spend at my sewing machine, with a cup of hot coffee, knocking some things off my Selfish Winter Sewing list!

Selfish Winter Sewing to do list - BusyBeingJennifer.com

DIY Flannel Throw – This look so quick easy and best of all, SNUGGLY! I probably need to make 2… 1 for me here at home and one for hubs to take on the road with him.

Paper Hearts Quilt – I think this might have to be my first project when (if?) I go to the Quilting retreat in February. I’m planning on going… but life keeps throwing curve balls and it *Might* not work out for me this year *pout* ANYWAYS this pattern is by Tula Pink and I think it would make a great selfish winter sewing stash buster! I can just see the hearts in rainbow order now! *sigh*

15 Minute Plaid and Lace Infinity Scarf – Step 1. drool over this infinity scarf. Step 2. BUY ALL THE PLAID. Step 3. Make 10 or 12 of these pretty things! 😀

DIY Polar Bear Pillow Cover – Hmmmm more plaid!?!?!? I might be slightly obsessed. But seriously whats not to love about this darling pillow cover! Now if only I had a log cabin + wood fire burning + nothing on my to do list = a couple of these would make for one cozy snuggle spot on the couch!

Giant Floor Pillow – Whats not to love about a giant floor pillow? With all of the crocheting, bear stuffing, and hand stitching that I do for my shop, I gte tired of sitting on the couch all the time! It’d be nice to mix it up with a giant, comfy pillow on the ground! Of course I have a feeling I’ll be fighting with the #monsterkittens and Bitly for the right to actually use the thing once its done! Come to think of it I might have to make a couple!

Draft Stopper – With a house as old and cold as mine, its a miracle I haven’t added these to my to do list sooner! There are at least 2 doors to the outside that could use a draft stopper and a couple inside the house that would help keep me warmer at night (when I lock the #monsterkittens out of my room so the pup and I can sleep in peace)

Easy Pot Holder Tutorial – I am in desperate need of some new pot holders and these ones are cute and another great use for some of my larger scrap pieces!

Time to bust out some Selfish Winter Sewing! But which project do I start with??

So now comes the hard question… What project do I start with???
