Quilt Retreat Dreaming…

TOMORROW!!! Tomorrow I leave for 4 days of quilty heaven! I’m headed off to Sunset Retreat and Quilting center for the 4th, or is it 5th?, time! And I am STINKING EXCITED! I’ve known I was going to this retreat for a couple weeks, but I have had the hardest time deciding what to work on. There are so many things I could/should/need to be sewing… but a quilting retreat, at least for me, is all about working on things that I WANT to work on! SO I’ve been doing a little Quilt Retreat Dreaming and I think I have a plan!

Project #1 Heart Quilt – I am in love with this Pixilated Heart quilt from Blue Elephant Stitches and I have the PERFECT fabric for it! Of course I had to add a couple extra low volume fabrics to my stash so that I’d get a good mix and I’ve been hoarding these Storybook charm squares for a couple months just waiting for the perfect project 😀 This one’s gonna be awesome!

Project #2  Herringbone Quilt – Maureen Cracknell created this gorgeous quilt AND shared the tutorial for it! I’m planning on using up a bunch of scraps for this one and if I’m lucky, focused AND productive, I might get it completely finished (other than the binding) before I leave!

Project #3 – Vintage Sheet Quilt – I’ve made a few of these before, but they’ve always been for someone else. I also recently added a few new sheets/patterns to my collection and this time I am making one for me!! I’m in need of a good sized lap quilt and I know just what and how I want it 🙂

Project #4 – Louisa Bag. The Lovely Ladies over at Clover and Violet sent me a pattern for this fun bag! I pulled some of my favorites from my stash to make this pretty bag!

Of course I’ll take a couple extra projects with me… you know… in case I’m super productive or something. I do have a couple of zippies I need to make for a gift and a half finished quilt I need to finish piecing 🙂 All in all its gonna be a great quilt retreat weekend and I can’t wait!!!!

So many project ideas, so little time! What all will I accomplish at this Quilt Retreat?

My Mom is a dedicated quilter – she would love to go on a quilt retreat! How fun! Enjoy yourself and yes, please share what you decided to work on, I'd love to see it!
