Only the Best for my Fur-Baby

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

This little puppy-girl of mine. Seriously. She is SUCH a character and brings so much joy to my life. From the moment she waltzed into my life, she made it clear that I am Hers as much as she is mine. If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably seen a *just a few* pictures of my fur-baby. She’s the thing I take the most photos of (followed by coffee & mugs), my best friend and constant companion. She’s pretty much my favoritist thing ever! I mean… look at this face!

My best bud - Bitly - BusyBeingJennifer.com

Isn’t she just precious???

When you love something the way I love Bitly, only the best will do for them. I recently started doing some research on the food we were feeding her and I was less than impressed with some of the ingredients. As a human with food sensitivities, including grains, I didn’t like the idea of feeding her dog food that included grains and by-products to my fur-baby. If its not good for me, that its definitely not good for her!

Bitly Hiding

After reading up on several of brands that are available, talking over the options with the hubs, we decided to go with Rachael Ray Nutrish Zero Grain pet food. Why did we choose this food for Bitly? Simple: real meat, real veggies and no grains.

Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Zero Grain™ Beef with Bison Recipe is made with simple, natural ingredients like real U.S. farm-raised beef, which is always the number one ingredient, combined with wholesome vegetables. And there are never any grains, glutens or fillers.

– Real beef, raised on U.S. farms is always the #1 ingredient
– With real bison raised on U.S. farms
– Zero grains, glutens or fillers
– Zero poultry by-product meal
– Zero artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors

We made the switch to Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Zero Grain dog food a few weeks ago and slowly introduced it to Bitly. It took about 2 weeks before she was completely switched (check with your vet about switching foods and the best plan for your pet). She gets super excited each morning when I pour her kibble into her bowl.

Bitly isn’t just our “pet”, she is part of our family. She is my “fur-baby”, best friend, constant companion and the one thing that keeps me sane/grounded/content when hubby is on the road for long periods. She’s the best snuggle buddy and the reason I rush home every time I’m out and about!

"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."

Only the BEST will do for #BittyBitly so that means @Nutrish Zero Grain pet food! #NutrishZeroGrain

Aw, what a sweet little girl! Our dog has a lot of allergies and can’t have grain along with a whole list of other ingredients. Good food for our fur babies is so important, thanks for sharing this brand!

What a cutie! I like the one in the blanket best! We always like to choose good food for the cats because the vet told us their digestive systems are very particular.

You have OFFICIALLY been recruited to the Rat Terrier fan club!!! I’m telling you, you will NEVER want another breed of dog. From my very first one in 1996 (named Lil’ Bit, believe it or not), to the present, I cannot even look at another breed. RT’s are so stinkin’ cute, intuitive, smart, loyal, dedicated, and loving it’s unimaginable. My current love is absolutely AWESOME with my chronically ill husband. When he’s up in the middle of the night she keeps an eye on him, and has on more than one occasion come and woken me up, because he was in need. She’s decided (since we’ve always praised her for doing so) that in EMERGENCIES (usually in the middle of the night or when it’s raining outside) she will use the puppy pad we keep fresh for her in the bathroom. She hits it EVER SINGLE TIME!!! Despite no formal training (beyond basic puppy training) she now can be trusted to go outside for brief times without her leash. She sticks very close to me when we are outside – but we don’t do it often as we live far too close to the roads. Of course, I always “scout” the area BEFORE opening the door to be sure there are no errant cats, squirrels, or people around, because she is ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that every man, woman and child is placed on this earth to pay homage to her, and that every squirrel or cat is destine to be her new best friend. Recently we’ve had to add birds to this “scouting mission” but in the case of birds, she believes they are the minions of the devil and wishes to eat every one of them!!! LOL!!!
