Oh the Cuteness! Kids DIY Costumes

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

I may not have kids of my own, and it might have been a long while since I was a kid, but there is one thing that you never forget about childhood… the epic homemade costumes! My mom was a whiz with a stapler, yarn, hot glue gun and our imaginations! One year she even used tempra paint in my hair so I could be an egyptian princess… I won best costume that year too! Its amazing what a little glue, a little paint and a whole lot of imagination can create!

These parents have got their costume act together… and I might be just a little jealous of the awesome costumes they created! I’ve rounded up 9 cute and clever DIY kids costumes:

Kids DIY Costumes

1. Moose from House of Paint

2. Hot Air Balloon from Rook No.17

3. No Sew Elmo from Girl Loves Glam

4. Bear from It Happens in a Blink

5. Baby Jax (Sons of Anarchy) from the Sasse Life

6. Fox from the Paper Mama

7. Rain Cloud from You and Mie

8. Knights in Training from Mer Mag

9. Sock Monkey from Homemade Ginger

Are you a DIY costume kind of parent/party goer? What are you wearing this halloween?

The hot air balloon one is by far my favorite, but I have a feeling that our toddlers would have it off in about 2.8 seconds. So maybe I'll stick with the Knights in Training, since they like to swing swords all around. 🙂
