Market Days & Sew Swap

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

Its been a nutty couple days! I’ve been taking pictures, editing and adding things to the shop as fast as I possibly can! Be sure to check it out 🙂

Over the weekend I did a 2 day market here in my little town. Its one of the oldest trade days/markets in Texas and the traffic is almost always good. This weekend was no exception, and considering the weather, that’s saying something! It was cold, a bit rainy, and just generally icky out. Since I was inside the community center I was perfectly comfortable and very glad to be warm and cozy 🙂

I had to play around with the set up. I wasn’t entirely happy with it… I had tried to rig up a clothes line type thing to put the hats on, but it didn’t quite work out. I’m really not a very good carpenter :/ The hats were my top sellers! They need to be displayed better 🙂

I have an idea for what I am going to do next month! And I am pretty excited about it! Of course I’ll share the details after I build it… with a little help from my much handier hubby 🙂

The booth across from me was chock full of temptation! I have a standing policy for markets/craft shows that I am not allowed to spend any money until I’ve sold enough to cover all my costs. Fortunately for me, that didn’t take long this weekend 🙂

BEADS!!!!

I spent a little bit on some new beads. And by a little bit I mean more than 30 bucks. LOL It’s so going to be worth it though. I found some really fun things to work with and they will be in the shop next week some time!

I also got to meet some fun people! The booth on my left was selling some really good beef jerky. First jerky I’ve ever tried that I actually liked! On my right was bunch of ladies with some fabulous blinged out T-shirts and had some of those cool temporary feathers for your hair.

Yep! I got a couple 🙂 I traded for them! Another thing I love about markets.

One of the things that I was supposed to do last week before the market was make an apron to keep my change, pen and cell phone in. But guess what? I didn’t need to do it after all! Friday morning I got a package 🙂 In that package was a GORGEOUS apron from the lovely Amy from Sweet Happy Pie!

Amy was my secret partner from the #SewSwap!

And I am so thrilled that she was 🙂 This lovely apple print apron was exactly what I needed for the market weekend! I got lots of compliments on it too! Thanks so much Amy!

It was such a fun and eventful weekend that I decided to do it again in November. I definitely need to get a TON of hats made up! I’ll be busy crocheting for the next month 🙂
