Jumping on the Monogram Bandwagon!

Lately there have been tons of monogram’s popping up all over the place, and I LOVE them all! Since I’ve been married a little less than a month, its only fitting 🙂

Of course… not every project works out the way you imagine it…

I used masking tape and grey paint to make stripes… and this happened…

Nasty, fuzzy, icky lines!

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and seconds before I was ready to through this canvas in the trash I had a moment of pure inspiration! Cover it with fabric 🙂

I remembered that I had almost a yard of this black and white chevron fabric in my stash, just waiting for the perfect project 🙂

To make sure that the already painted stripes wouldn’t show through, I added a layer of white in between the canvas and the chevron fabric.

Using a glue gun I attached the fabrics to the back of the frame, making sure to pull it nice and tight.

I had pained the “s” solid black… which would have worked well with the grey stripes. So I sprayed it with a light coat of white to give it a grey look… and then ran to grab some Sparkles!

I covered the sparkle layer with a clear coat to help them stick (no one wants sparkles where sparkles don’t belong!)

I absolutely adore the way it turned out and it looks fabulous on the “mantel” 🙂

I hate when the paint bleeds like that, too! So frustrating. Nice job with the cover, I LOVE this!! You did a fantastic job 🙂

I have to agree that no one wants sparkles where sparkles don't belong, lol. Turned out great. I'm glad you found the fabric – the lines would have bugged me too. Thanks for sharing at our Link It Up Thursday party – I'm a new linky follower.
