#1. Make Sure You Plan Your Day
If you have ever had the chance to encounter a CEO of a big company, you will always see that their day is meticulously planned in every aspect. Right from the time they wake up in the morning to the time that they go to bed, everything follows a fixed schedule. There are many different ways to plan and structure your day, from time blocking to bullet journaling to the Pomodoro technique, you’ve got options for HOW you plan… but the thing you really must do is PLAN!
#2. Make the Schedule the Night Before
Making a list the night before based on what you have to do the following day is an excellent way to ensure that you get everything that you need to do through the day, and also to ensure that you are in your most productive state. I also find its a very satisfying way to end a work day.
#3. Use a Bullet Journal to Help You Plan
I’m a big fan of bullet journaling and use mine for a variety of purposes, daily planning for productivity being one of them. Using a bullet journal or the calendar or planner apps on your phone/tablet is a good way to plan for your day ahead. It’s amazing how having a journal to help you write everything down can help you be more productive. I love that I can track my productivity levels, the work I’ve accomplished AND have a written record of projects to look back on.

Rhodia’s goal book is currently my favorite for bullet journaling!
High quality paper, already numbered and the cover is buttery soft!
#4. Take Breaks
I don’t know about you, but I love to get stuff done. However, I’m not always super productive when I try and go through my to-do list really fast. I have found that in order to be productive, I also need to take breaks. Taking breaks is important to the quality of your work as well. When you take breaks you are destressing and discharging, which so important to the human body.
I like to work in sprints of 35 to 45 minutes and then take a 5 to 10 minute break. Sometimes its just long enough to grab more water and get a little stretch, other times 15 to 20 minutes and a walk around the block for some fresh air and sunshine (the dogs come too!). Regardless of how long and the purpose, I always come back refreshed and ready to get back into deep level work.
Taking breaks can do wonders for your mental capacity, making you feel a lot more refreshed. This also enables you to focus on your work better and be a lot more productive, which is the goal!
#5. Remember Your End Goals
Your end goals can be one of the most important motivators, encouraging you to be in your most productive state. Make sure you write down your goals and make a long-term plan of action to attain them. Remember that every single day you are doing something to move one step closer towards that end goal.
When you work with the end in mind, you’ll find yourself committed to bringing those dreams into reality, and willing to stick to the plan, even when you don’t necessarily feel like it. Getting more and more productive as you create and fine tune systems that work for you.

It’s important to remember, this isn’t about transforming into someone else overnight. It’s about taking small, manageable steps towards creating a routine that works for you.
So why not give it a shot? Try planning your day from start to finish. Maybe even set a reminder on your phone or jot it down in a planner. Let’s turn those dreams into plans and those plans into actions. Trust me, once you get into the swing of things, you’ll be amazed at how much more you can achieve.
Are you ready to embrace this new habit? To step into the shoes of a CEO and take charge of your day? I believe in you, and I know you’ve got what it takes to make every day a stepping stone towards success. Let’s do this together, shall we? Here’s to a more organized, productive, and fulfilling day. You’ve got this!
