Fun Ways To Change Up Your Look In The New Year

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

New year, new me. It’s a saying that a lot of us think about when the clock strikes midnight on new year’s day, but it is also something that a lot of us don’t truly mean or stick to. Now and again in our lives it is important to make some changes to our style and our look. Refreshing our makeup, hair, and fashion can bring a whole new facet to our personality and it allows us to discover things we didn’t previously know about ourselves.

As 2022 begins, there is no better time to practice some serious self care and make some changes to our look. As we move into a world which is hopefully much more open and ‘normal’, stepping out with a fun new look can be just what you need to feel confident and fresh!

Here are some of the different ways that you can consider changing up and vamping up your look in the new year.

Change your makeup routine

One of the easiest ways to quickly change your look in the new year is to change your makeup style. We all have a signature makeup look, and you will likely reach for the same palette consisting of the same 2-3 colours every day without batting an eye. However, now and again trying something a little more colourful or smokey can be a brilliant way to make you look sultry, sexy, and elegant. Consider playing around with a new eye makeup look this January and even consider trying a new contour or highlight to refresh your face and give you that dewy look.

Buy some new outfits

There is no better way to make yourself feel confident and sexy than buying some new outfits. If you always seem to struggle coordinating outfits, the easiest way to find inspiration is to find your favorutie fashion brand’s instagram account and use their photos to get some great ideas! You can also look on Pinterest and you’ll often be able to find some amazing outfit combos that you never would have thought of yourself. Wearing a new outfit can improve your confidence no end and it will also allow you to see yourself in different styles you may never have tried.

Get a piercing

Looking for a fun change to your look in the new year? Consider getting a new piercing or two. There are many different parts of your ear you can pierce and multiple earrings can look super cool. If you are feeling more adventurous you could even choose something like a nipple piercing or a belly bar and this would be a fun little thing to have!

Try a new hair colour

Unless you are super attached to your natural colour, for example being a natural redhead – dyeing your locks could be the ideal statement for you to make in the new year. Instead of following the greyish blonde that everyone else is going for though, maybe try something a little more bold or unique. If you don’t want to commit to a permanent colour, you can buy Overtone masks which will deposit colour on your hair but will wash out after a few washes to allow you to change your look regularly.

Are you planning on refreshing your look or style in 2022?
