There is just something so perfect about maxi dresses… its like wearing old yoga pants and a comfy tee, but still looking fashionable and trendy. I’m addicted to them. In fact I have more maxi dresses than one stay-at-home blogger/shop owner can justify. What can I say, I live in them… or old yoga pants and a comfy tee 😉 I wear my favorite maxi dresses year round, it just takes few accessories! We’re talking Fall Maxi Dress Fashion today!

Fall Maxi Dress Fashion Tip #1 Add a Cardigan. Obvious right? But adding a cardigan like this one or this one is the easiest way to take a maxi dress into the fall! Fitted, cropped, or long and drapey, the shape of the cardigan depends on the shape and flow of the dress. Mix and match until you find what you like!

Fall Maxi Dress Fashion Tip #2 Add a pair of leggings. Its definitely a practical solution for the colder months, but it also can add some color and texture!

Fall Maxi Dress Fashion Tip #3 Add a Denim or Chambray button up or jacket! I’m loving this one and this one… and might have just bought this one!! Pretty sure this combination is going to be my “go-to” this fall!

Fall Maxi Dress Fashion Tip #4 Add a Cozy Scarf. And the bigger the better! That way if your arms get cold, you can use it as a shawl too 😉 I LOVE my plaid blanket scarf (like this one) and need this chunky infinity scarf in my life!

Fall Maxi Dress Fashion Tip #5 Add a Blazer. You can add a pop of color to a neutral maxi with a blazer like this, add some floral charm with something like this blazer or tone it down a bit with something like this.

You can definitely mix and match these tips together depending on the weather, how many layers you need to wear and your own sense of style. I fully expect to be seen around town (and instagram to0 in my favorite maxi dresses all year long! With the addition of a few layers of course 🙂

Maxi dresses are my go to office outfit. They’re so comfortable and stylish. I really love the idea of throwing a blazer or even something edgier like a leather jacket over them!

I love how you styled these; maxi dresses can totally transition into fall! I have a handful of maxi dresses that are too summery in color for the fall (a coral and teal combination comes to mind) but this works with just about any other type of dress!
