DIY Gold Glitter Magnetic Chalkboard

I’m so excited about the Glue Gun Wars! This month the challenge is GLITTER! I have a love/hate relationship with glitter, but then again who doesn’t ? It gets every where and its impossible to clean it all up! But in the end, I think the results are worth it 🙂 Especially if you’re smart enough to do the glitter part of the project outside or in the garage! When its all said and done, I think that my gorgeous DIY Gold Glitter Magnetic Chalkboard is worth the effort!

As awesome as this gold glitter magnetic chalkboard is… its on my black fridge… so the pictures might look a little “off”, Of course I didn’t think about that before hand 😉

This project is pretty easy, but packs a whole lot of awesome if you’re a glitter lover! All you need is a basic chalkboard (Like this one), Mod Podge, Gold Glitter, Clear spray paint, magnets, tape, a piece of paper and old newsprint to cover your work surface.

DIY Glitter Chalkboard Process

First we need to protect the chalkboard part by covering with a piece of paper. Try and get the tape as close to the edge as possible for a clean look.

Next, slather on the Mod Podge nice and thick. Be sure to work quickly so it doesn’t have time to dry before the next step.

GLITTER BOMB!

Cover the areas you applied the glue too= with glitter. Be sure to cover completely… go nuts! You can always buy more glitter later or try to save the awesomely annoying access.

Let the glue and glitter dry completely. Knock off the access glitter. Check to make sure that there aren’t any “bald” spots. Apply more glitter and glue if necessary.

Once everything is touched up and totally dry, its time to clear coat so all that glittery awesomeness stays where its supposed to! Follow the directions of your chosen clear coat spray paint. Allow everything to dry again.

Add magnets. Stick to your fridge.

DIY Gold Glitter Fridge Chalkboard

Use it for your grocery list, reminders, notes to your family, pretty much anything! No matter what you use it for and write on it, you’ll be doing it with glittery style!

Take your Fridge to the next level with this fun DIY Glitter Magnetic Chalkboard!

I'm generally not a glitter loving girl, but you may have won me over with this glitter chalkboard. Thanks for sharing at the This Is How We Roll Link Party at Organized 31.
