I have a thing for bags and purses. I’ve managed to suppress my insatiable need to buy. all. the. bags! So I have been making my own! I found some fabulous patterns from JenGiddens.com. And no, this is not an official review of the Classic Messenger Bag… but when I like something I feel its my duty to share 🙂 Customer service was amazing and Jen even helped me find clasps!
I found this fun fabric and knew it was meant to be my new bag 🙂
The inside is lined with a white with black polka dot fabric that I found at a local thrift store (score!)
The pattern calls for a nice big pocket. Its perfect for me. The bag is nice and big and fits just about anything that I would need to take with me. The strap is the perfect length for one shoulder or cross-body.
The pattern is very easy to understand and comes will full size pieces for cutting. I’m excited to make a few more of these and add them to the shop! As soon as I get back from vacation, I’ll be going to work on them .
Happy Monday!

I’m making this bag right now. Can’t find the instruction for how long & wide to cut the strap fabric…. 🙁

They're in the instructions somewhere… but I didn't use the length dimensions for my bag since I wanted it to hang a little longer. I measured using my body and cut where I liked it. I think the width was 8 inches and then its tri-folded with the raw edges ending up inside. Hope this helps!!
