Mmmmm Hot Chocolate! Is there anything more comforting that a mug full of chocolatey goodness on a cold day? When I was a child, I loved coming in after several hours of playing in the snow, to steaming mugs of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows!

Nowadays, my hot chocolate tastes mostly remain the same, but every once in a while, I like putting together something that is a little more grown up!

This Cinnamon Bourbon White Hot Chocolate is just such a grown up hot chocolate recipe! And believe me, it is scrumptious!

Ingredients

1 pkg                    Cinnamon Hearts
2 C                       Whole Milk
1 C                       Heavy Cream
½ C                      White Chocolate Chips
1 Ounce               Bourbon *optional
1 Ounce               Hot Cinnamon Liquor *optional

Cinnamon Bourbon White Hot Chocolate Directions:

In a small sandwich bag, place ½ C cinnamon candy hearts and using a heavy knife or the bottom of a glass, crush the candies to a tiny gravel consistency. Set aside.

In a saucepan, begin heating milk, cream and alcohol. Bring to just a small boil and remove from heat.

Add a ¼ C of whole cinnamon candy hearts and the white chocolate chips to the mixture and stir completely until dissolved.

In 2 serving mugs, place 3 cinnamon candies (This is optional). Pour the white hot chocolate in the mugs and top with whipped topping, and garnish with the crushed cinnamon candy hearts.
