If there is anything that I have learned in the past 4 months of frantic making and market/festival/craft show weekends, it is that its absolutely ok, and some times even necessary to take a little ME time. While I’m not always very good at it, I’ve definitely learned to just say “YES” when a friend calls me up and wants to go out. But Better yet, I’m getting better at Being that friend! Last week I called my friend Shelli and told her we needed a day out. We were more than a little over due for some solid girl time! The plan? Shopping, Lunch and a Movie!
Not the most awesome pic, but the theatre was dark. We were too busy laughing and giggling to care a whole lot 🙂
Since this weekend is the very last of the market/festival/craft show weekends for me this Holiday , I couldn’t completely slack off and ended up crocheting on the drive in and back from Dallas. I even managed to get 3 hat “bases” done! We did a little shoe shopping and then headed to the AMC Theatre at Grapevine Mills. Now when we picked this theatre location, we picked it based on the proximity to the stores we wanted to visit. It had nothing to do with being a “Dine In” theatre. But HOLY COW! Was the Dine In part ever cool! I’d never been to a dine in theatre before!
The coolness actually started before we even got to the actual theatre that we were seeing Penguins of Madagascar in. Coca-Cola recently added a SUPER COOL Freestyle Machines to a few select theatres. And we picked one of them! This mega-machine puts 100+ drink choices at your fingertips. So whether you’re craving a Sprite® Peach, Hi-C®Raspberry Lime or a Dasani® Lemon, the Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine has got you covered! With the tap of the screen and a push of a button, I had nice, cold root beer!
For lunch I ordered Loaded Potato Skins, Chicken Quesadillas and a Waffle Sundae for dessert. Shelli got Fish & Chips and the Brownie Sundae. I wanted to pretend I was an accomplished foodie and take pics of the delicious food, but it was WAY too dark!
All in all it was a very successful afternoon of me time! Oh and Shelli time too 🙂 It was just what these two VERY busy girls needed to make it through the next few weeks of holiday busyness!
A big thank you to AMC Theatres and Coca-Cola for making an afternoon and a little me time possible! #AMCandCocaColaFreestyle
What do you do when you need a break and a little bit of time just for you?

This sounds like such a cool theater! I've never been to a dine-in one either. So neat!
