I’ve got Christmas on my brain! All this Christmas in July making has me excited for the Holiday season! Oh and a serious craving shortbread 😉 In the meantime, I’m getting my holiday decor prepped and ready to go! And I’m really excited about this Christmas Star Art project!
Supplies to make your own Christmas Star Art:
- Wide Ribbon
- Old Cabinet Door or Piece of Rustic Wood
- 5 Trim Nails
I found my cabinet door at a thrift shop and loved that it was a little rustic and worn. It was inexpensive and you can often find these types of things for free. If you wanted you could also use pallet wood, barn wood, or any other distressed wood.
Use a hammer to nail the trim nails into the wood. The nails should be placed at the top, 2 on the sides, and 2 on the bottom. When the ribbon is wrapped around the nails it will create a star.
After the nails are in place, wrap the ribbon around them. I placed the center of the ribbon in the center of the board, laying the ribbon over the two side nails. Next I wrapped them around the nails at the bottom, opposite corners. Then bring the ribbon back up to the top and tie in a bow.
This is perfect for adding to a mantel, book shelf, or hanging on the wall to display! And if you use a neutral colored ribbon, it can be year long art piece too!
