This past Christmas was kind of a wash for my little family. Between 6 month old Bitly and 2 #MonsterKittens that just won’t leave stuff alone, we decided to skip the decorating thing. Talk about a bummer! I’d been planning on making us new stockings too! But no decorating meant nowhere to hang any stockings! I am determined to find some sort of pet friendly, happy decorating medium this holiday season, and that means stockings too! So I took this Christmas in July opportunity to make some fun, new, Quilt-As-You-Go Christmas Stockings!
I’ve been working on a couple of fun Christmas projects that created a surprising amount of scraps… so scrappy stockings it was! I used the same quilt-as-you-go scrappy technique in my quilt-as-you-go scrappy coasters earlier this summer.
Imagine Gnats has a great tutorial for quilt-as-you-go Christmas Stockings and I used that as the basis of my stockings as well as her free printable pattern for the shape.
It definitely saved me time and hassle… I really didn’t know how big to make my stockings and didn’t really want to experiment with the size and shape.
If you’re interested in making your own quilt-as-you-go Christmas stockings, I highly recommend Imagine Gnats tutorial! These turned out great and I can’t wait to put them to good use in a couple months!
So adorable!
Adorable! I love handmade items, and am definitely adding this to my never ending “to make” list! 😉
These are beautiful! I’d love for you to share them on Together for Tuesdays 🙂
Oh my! These are the best. The scrappy quilted look is my favorite. You’re so crafty!
Well, it IS Christmas in July at the moment. What a great way to start your holiday decorating!
These are so cute!!
It’s never too early (in my book) to start thinking about Christmas. These are adorable (as always!).
These are so cute, and again it makes me want to learn to sew.
Absolutely love these. So festive and bright. You’re going to have a beautiful Christmas this year!
