Summer time is ALL about the cook outs, family time, picnics, hanging out at the lake or pool and making LOTS of memories! Will all of this fun and excitement comes FOOD 🙂 When there are hungry mouths to feed, its important to make grabbing what you need as easy as possible! So why not make your own DIY utensil caddy for the forks, knives, and spoons you’re gonna need all summer long?
Supplies:
- Tin cans
- Wooden craft sticks
- Glue gun and hot glue
- Wooden spoon
- Beads, buttons, or other embellishments optional
Instructions:
Remove the label and any sharp edges from the tin can. Wash and dry it well.
Carefully attach the wooden craft sticks to the outside of the tin can using the glue gun and hot glue. The sticks should be tight together and the bottoms should line up so that the finished caddy will set level.
After the cans are completely covered with the sticks use hot glue to attach the wooden spoon for the handle. Attach the second can to the other side of the wooden spoon.
The caddy is ready to use! Fill with utensils, napkins, condiments and other items for shuttling back and for to the patio table.
For added design, you can embellish the utensil caddy with buttons, beads, or paint. I’m thinking I might dip mine in a couple different shades of teal and aqua 🙂
Its cute right? I think I might have to make another utensil caddy and dip it in some fun, bright paint colors!
