Howdy Ya’ll 🙂

I’m Jennifer and I am super excited to be visiting from Finding My Way In Texas. Its my little corner of the internet where I blog about my new life in Texas and all the fun things I come up with to make it home.

I’ve gathered quite a Stash of crafty things since I got here and some Stash busting was definitely needed. Lately I’ve been obsessed with Owls, I’ve made a handful of different things with owls as the theme, and today I want to share with you how to make these oh so cute Owl key chains

These little guys are perfect for busting some of your fabric scraps!

Here’s what you need…

Glue Gun

Scissors

2 coordinating fabrics

Yellow fabric

A split ring

Black and white felt

2 inches of ribbon

Paper for the template

Sewing Machine or needle and thread

To start you need to cut out a template that looks like this. You want it to be about 3.5 inches wide and 3 inches tall (at the ears).

Trace and cut out 2 shapes from your main fabric

Using the coordinating fabric, cut an oval and sew on to the owl to make the belly.

Cut 2 small black , and 2 larger white circle out of the felt for the eyes. Glue the black circle to the white using the glue gun. Next cut a triangle for the beak out of the yellow fabric.

Sew the eyes and beak onto your owl.

Fold the ribbon in half and pin to the back piece of the owl. It is very important that the ribbon faces in.

Place the right sides together and sew together with a 1/4 inch seem. Make sure to reinforce the ribbon. Leave a 2 inch opening at the bottom.

Flip your owl right side out, and gently push the ears out with your scissors.

Fold the bottom opening closed and top stich all the way around. Add the split ring to the ribbon.

And there you have it! An adorable owl key chain 🙂

I plan on whipping up a bunch of these cute little guys. They’ll be prefect for Christmas stocking stuffers.

Thanks for having me Robin and for hosting Stash Busting September 🙂
