On Saturday I told you that I welcomed to new additions to the family… The plan was just one, but somehow I ended up with two!
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I thought a squirrel was storing its nuts in some of my fabric. Turns out it was not a squirrel… but a mouse, or rather a bunch of mice. With hubby on the road, its been up to me to deal with the rodent issue *shudder*. I’ve caught several of the little nasty beasts… and tried every trap type available… but there were a few that were still getting in and wreaking havoc! I even tried using foam insulation to fill the spot I thought they were coming from… no luck. So after waking up on Thursday to little mouse turds in my kitchen yet again, I told the hubs I was done and we were getting a cat whether he agreed or not… so naturally he agreed.
I found a local family that rescues strays and one of the cats they rescued had a litter of 8 week old kittens. I arranged to visit them on Friday so I could pick out a little ball of fur. The family was super friendly and all the kittens were well handled and not afraid of humans (so important to me). I fell in love with a charcoal and grey colored one… The kids said good by to my new friend, I put him in the crate and hopped in the car. I was so excited about my new kitty that I HAD to call my hubs 🙂 While I was talking to him (on speaker of course), he asked me what that “gawd awful noise” was… it was the kitten! The poor thing was freaking out about being taken from its family and being locked up. Hubs response to me explaining why… “go get another one so its not alone and crying all the time!”
So I did!
The family was more than happy to let me pick out another one… They could only find one of the orange ones and the other grey one I didn’t really want another grey one… especially since they were pretty much identical. I picked up the orange one, looked into those baby blues and was done. He was coming home with me to0! And that is how I ended up with two tiny little balls of fur!!
Now brace yourself, my new favorite thing to do is take pictures of these little guys… I have fully embraced my new title of “Crazy cat Lady”! If you follow me on instagram, than you’ve probably already experienced my kitten over sharing… but I can’t help it! They’re so stinking cute!!
This is Tang. Orange = Tang… get it? And it suits his personality! He’s totally sweet, loves to play and can get quite demanding when he wants snuggles. You should hear him! He’ll sit by the door thats blocked off (until they get a little bigger) and MEOW until I come and pick him up for some cuddle time. I love it! Unless I’m trying to be productive… then its more than just a little distracting lol
This is Bliss. Bliss is totally mellow, loves to just lay around, but Bliss is the one that seems to find all the tiny holes and spots to hide. He already gave me one heart attack on saturday night… I was getting ready for bed and went to check on the kittens, and he was missing! After frantically searching everywhere and calling his name over and over I finally started to hear tiny, faint little meows. He had crawled up onto the bottom shelf of the pantry and then curled up behind my cake stand to take a nap… silly kitten!
These 2 love to wrestle, play with yarn, crawl all over my fabric and use my feet for a playground! I couldn’t possibly adore them more!

They are SOOO adorable! I’ve had cats all of my life and they have always been great companions and brought so much joy into my life. Can’t wait to hear more stories about your babies. Keep the pics coming!

Aww, they are so cuuuuute!!! <3 My cat gave me a heart attack the other day because she got tangled in the cord for the blinds and decided to jump off the window ledge almost hanging herself! I'm still ridiculously freaked out over the whole experience. Just when you think your home is kitten/cat-proofed, they find yet another place to get in to. Our first cat has taken to chewing the wooden corner of window ledges or the stair landing rails. They're so mischevious but I can't be angry with them for long… Sigh. Such a softy when it comes to kitties. Enjoy being a crazy cat lady! I'm right there with you! 🙂

What is it with these feline beasts we love so much freaking us out??? One of my wee ones took a header from the kitchen table! Shook it off and kept on running! Not so for me… I probably didn't breathe for 2 minutes! LOL

So adorable!!!!! We've had three cats since they were all little (just like yours) and the oldest one passed this year. He was 13 years old and our oldest baby. Now we have two cats left, still the oldest animals in the house (11 and 12). Cats bring SO MUCH character and soul to a home.

Haha! So cute!
A few months ago with had ZERO cats. Then we took in a stray… then we took in a cat whose owners couldn't keep her… then we rescued a cat that we found on the road. This last one we were sure would die through the night… but she lived! And last week she had 4 kittens!! YUP! We went from 0-7 in about 3 months. The kittens are little miracle babies and it will be so hard to give them up once they're old enough. Hopefully we can find good owners like you take them when the time comes!!

Awww bless you for helping so many! Kittens really are the sweetest thing! I can't imagine how hard it will be to give them away when the time comes, but I know you'll find awesome homes for them! 🙂

Those two kittens are way too cute! I wouldn't be able to resist them, either. I hope they grow to be great mousers. Our cats always keep the mice away 🙂
