With the #MonsterKittens on the prowl, a traditional Christmas Tree isn’t really an option for our home. They’ve already destroyed one tree… so I’ve been on the hunt for a pet friendly alternative… and so the Palette Christmas Tree was born!

To make your own Palette Christmas Tree you need:

~Pallets

~Hammer or two

~Screws

~Saw

Directions:

Take the cross pieces of the pallet. I find this is easiest using two hammers, one to bang the other under the boards.

Remove as many nails as possible.

Cut your boards descending in size by about 6 inches, no need to be exact.  Order these from longest on the bottom to shortest on the top.

Secure to upright board using 2 screws.DIY Palette Christmas Tree - BusyBeingJennifer.com #101HandmadeDays

I prefer the rustic look but these can be painted any color to meet decorating needs. Your palette Christmas tree could really be decorated for just about any holiday.

I gotta tell you, this is one of my favorite DIY Christmas projects… working with old palettes can get a little messy, but the end result is DEFINITELY worth it!

Sorry #MonsterKittens, no more tree destruction sessions for you!

I like that! Especially in an area like where we live, rustic looking DIYs are super popular so I think this would be a hit, I’ll have to share!

How cool! This looks so fun and easy. I’ve been wanting to make more christmas decor since most of it at the store doesn’t fit my style. Or if it does, it’s crazy expensive. Definitely trying this for Christmas!
