After making it through a Cah-Razy weekend at Antique Alley in Cleburne (more on that later this week) its nice to be home and back into our regular routine! And that means its time for another edition of Handmade Love! This week its all about AngelHearts Crafts and the creative mind behind the handmade awesomeness, Nueyer!
Tell us about how you got started…
I dabbled in many crafty stuff when I was young – knitting, sewing, drawing etc, but all these stopped with the demands of school, then work. Having to sew an odd-sized pillow case started me sewing again, and with that I started to try out new things to challenge myself. At the end of 2012, I opened my Storenvy store featuring Japanese fabric glass pendants. The range has expanded to pouches, plushies, hair accessories and even hand-carved rubber stamps!
What inspires your creative process? Why do you do what you do?
I like to challenge myself, to try new things and see how far I can go. While I read up on different crafts, some ideas make their way into my work, which could be of a totally different medium. While I wish I had much more time to make stuff, whatever time I have now in between work, kid minding, cleaning etc, making stuff brings me to a world separate from the daily grind.
