In case you haven’t noticed, I have a bit of a quilting addiction. While I am not the fastest quilt-maker (quilter-er? quiltest?), I take pride in each of my creations. They’re kind of like my babies… a labor of love and they seem to develop their own “fabric personality”. My latest finished quilt definitely took on a personality all its own. My Hexi Quilt is fun, bright, colorful and just a little bit crazy Maybe a little bit like the person that created it? LOL. It’s easy to see that #ImAddictedToQuilting
I used the “Sew Hexagons by Machine pattern from the Fall/Winter 2012 Quilt Sampler Magazine. (You can get a digital copy here) Using the template provided I cut hexagons. Lots and lots and lots of hexagons. You can check out my progress here, here and here. Its finished and photographed and now I get to show it off!
I mentioned in my last Work In Progress update that I was frustrated with the backing. It puckered. You can see it here on the back of the quilt. I was kinda P.O.’d about it.
Other than the puckering that happened on the back, I LOVE everything about this quilt. It’s a large crib size (approx. 55 x 33 inches) and would be perfect for a play blanket I started cutting more hexi’s for another quilt last night I’m gonna try to stick to boy colors this time
